Good Faith Estimate
You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of your care.

Federal law requires health care providers to offer an estimate to patients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance. This estimate should cover the anticipated charges for any non-emergency service or item, including related expenses such as tests, prescriptions, equipment, or facility fees. Your provider must give this estimate in writing at least one business day before your scheduled service. You may also request a Good Faith Estimate from any provider at any time, even before booking an appointment.

If your final bill is at least four hundred dollars higher than the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to challenge the charge.

Keep a copy or photo of your estimate for your records.
