Moving Abroad Changes You. How Does it Change Your Queer Identity?
You left for freedom, for something new, or for safety, but a new country does not automatically make things feel right.
Moving abroad can shift how you experience your identity, how you express it, and where you feel like you belong.
This 4 week program is where you gain understanding and empowerment to assimilate into your new environment with confidence, community, and self love.
How It Works
This is a group coaching experience designed to feel structured and productive without feeling rigid. The group setting facilitates community building, but is intentionally small to allow deeper conversation and more individualized growth and empowerment.
You will meet once a week for 4 weeks in the same group, creating consistency and familiarity over time.
Each session is a guided group conversation with a consistent format, designed to encourage community and personal liberation.
Over time, these guided conversations build on each other. What starts as something hard to name becomes clearer, more defined, and easier to navigate.
Each session follows a simple format:
We begin with a focused check in question
A short idea or framework is introduced to guide reflection
The group moves into facilitated discussion using prompts
You leave with one clear takeaway and a simple tool to carry into the next week
By the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll have:

Real connections with other LGBTQ+ expats and immigrants
Structured, facilitated discussions led by a trans, immigrant counselor and coach
Guided exploration of identity at the intersection of queerness and immigration.
Clear takeaways and simple tools you can carry forward each week and beyond
A deeper understanding of yourself and how you fit into your new environment as a queer person
A Program Built for Queer Immigrants and Expats
Just Like You.
The flagship program launches April 29th with our first meeting from 6 pm - 7:30pm CET.
I’m opening 6 spots for this first cohort at an introductory rate, as a way to build this space with the right people from the start.
You’ll take part in four guided group sessions designed to help you build clarity, connection, and a stronger sense of belonging. Between sessions, you’ll stay supported through a private WhatsApp group for LGBTQ+ expats and immigrants, along with weekly worksheets to help you continue the work in your own time.

About the Creator of this Program
I'm Ryn, (they/them) a trans counselor and coach from Oregon in the USA. I currently live in the Netherlands, and exploring my own identity as both a queer person and immigrant has been a challenging and inspiring adventure.
I built this group program because its something I wished I had during my own transition into a new culture abroad. I want to help others like me find community and inner liberation.
